Musical Training
Rohidas Krishna Parab began his musical journey with initial guidance from his father, Late Shri Krishna Vishram Parab (Navsu Master), elder brother Shri Vilas Parab, and Shri Bhalchandra Parsekar. He went on to pursue formal qualifications, earning a Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) Degree with First Class from a UGC-accredited university, along with Sangeet Visharad from both Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay, Miraj, and Pune Bharat Gayan Samaj. He trained for three years under Pt. Bapu Patwardhan and two years under Pt. Bhai Gaitonde, before receiving advanced training under Pt. Mohan Balavalli in the traditional Gurukul Paddhati for over sixteen years. This strong foundation shaped him into a versatile tabla accompanist, blending discipline, creativity, and technical finesse.

Professional Work & Contributions

• Worked as Tabla Teacher for twelve years at Sur Zankar Academy, Juhu, Mumbai.

• Visiting Tabla Teacher at Madhav Sangeet Vidyalaya, Nalasopara, Vasai.

• Conducted workshops on Tabla and Harmonium with Pt. Tulsidas Borkar and Pt. Mohan Balavalli in Udupi, Karnataka.

• Actively contributed to the promotion of classical music in Goa and Maharashtra through teaching, workshops, and performances.

Performances

• Featured at prestigious festivals such as Hari Vallabh Sangeet Mahotsav (Jalandhar), Sawai Gandharva Mahotsav (Kundgol), Megh Malhar and Swaranjali Sangeet Mahotsav (Mumbai), Pt. Vasantrao Deshpande Festival (Nagpur), Gunidas Sammelan (Mumbai), Kalidas Festival (Nagpur), Tansen Samaroh (Gwalior), Saptak Festival (Ahmedabad), and Dagdusheth Ganpati Mahotsav (Pune).

• Regular performer at major music festivals across Goa including Late Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki Mahotsav, Girijatai Kelekar Sangeet Mahotsav, Shridhar Parsekar Mahotsav, and Shri Damodar Bhajani Saptaha.

• Performed internationally in the USA, UK, UAE, Italy, and New Jersey, collaborating with eminent maestros like Pt. Prabhakar Karekar, Pt. Ajit Kadkade, and at Ustad Zakir Hussain Institute, New Jersey.

• Played tabla in numerous Sangeet Natak productions including Saubhadra, Sangeet Saunshay Kallol, Manapman, Gora Kumbhar, and Awagha Rang Ekachi Zala.

Accompaniment

• Accompanied legendary stalwarts such as Pt. Prabhakar Karekar, Pt. Ajit Kadkade, Pt. Ramashray Jha, Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar, Pta. Arti Anklikar, Mrs. Devki Pandit, Shri Shaunak Abhisheki, Shri Suresh Wadkar, Shri Mahesh Kale, and many others across classical and semi-classical traditions.

Recordings

• Featured in four classical albums with Pt. Prabhakar Karekar on Tabla.

• Recorded extensively with Pt. Ajit Kadkade including Dattachi Palakhi.

• Accompanied Pt. Mahadev Pednekar in two classical albums.

• Contributed to over 50 albums of Kannada Bhajans with Late Shri Shivanand Patil.
